| Hello and welcome! Good job on your success so far! I have about that much to lose. I've lost over 70 and think I will stay here or lower long term due to changes in my lifestyle. I'm getting into pretty good shape. Would like to lose about 15-20, and then see if I should lose another 5-10 which is where the standard charts put me. If you have read the DANDR book and a lot of posts here (see Forums, Induction), you know you need to be strict about this or it will not work. Once you progress and learn what you can introduce you will be better off than bindging. Question: What are you doing for exercise?

| I had planned on riding my bike to and from work (9 mile round trip). Which I did the day I started Atkins, but since then I have become very sick with a virus. I am going to wait on the bike riding until I am better. But The sad thing is the weather won't permit bike riding soon and I have no other plan other than my school has a gym I can use for free (if I have the time). |

| Get well soon!! Yeah use the gym that is a great opportunity. You can use the stationary bikes or treadmills. A bit safer than riding on the road also. Plus there is other stuff like the stability ball which I have found invaluable for crunches and weight training. Again, get well soon!!

| Hi Danielle, I just started today. I posted my whole story in another thread just now but saw yours and wanted to say I'm in the same category as you are. My problem is that my weight is just climbing, even though it hasn't gotten too critical yet I have definitely crossed into the overweight category and am afraid I'm going I will keep gaining if I don't reverse direction somehow. I'm not looking forward to the havoc on the digestive system that I have experienced with eating a lot of meat in the past (veterans: is it awful??) but I have warned my husband about the bad breath! I'm actually hoping he'll do Atkins with me. I wasn't really sure it was the right move but I'm very encouraged by the folks on this board, who have really stuck with it and aren't scowling and cranky for lack of sugar but seem so friendly and supportive. Good luck to you. -- Hope |

| Hi there. I have 25 pounds to lose to get back into a normal weight range. I just finished induction and now i've moved over to OWL and am on rung 1. I was surprised to see that i've lost 8 pounds already considering my weight loss goal isn't that significant. Best of luck to you on your journey, just thought i'd chime in to say i'm in the same boat.

| Hi Holly Congratulations on finishing induction. I have a question: did you find your weight went down AND up at all during this phase? or did you lose weight steadily? Thanks for any insights you can share! Hope |

| Thank you, Hope. Actually, to be honest, I only weighed myself at the beginning of induction, the day of starting the second week and then at the end of induction, so I can't say for sure. I have only dropped 1 pound since starting OWL on Monday, so it's slowing down for me now. Are you having ups and downs with your weight fluctuation? I hear it's very normal during all stages of Atkins. I also had my TOM during induction, so perhaps I would have lost more if I hadn't of started during that time. Oh well, i'll never know. I hope I helped a bit. Good luck!

| Thanks for your reply.... no, it's been only three days and I'm just losing so far. Just wondered what to expect, didn't want to lose heart if I saw the scale going up and down. I'm impressed you were able to soldier through without checking the scale during induction -- good job! Cheers. |
