Default Hello Everyone!

Hi there,
I'm new to this place- so I'll just quickly introduce myself. I did the Atkins diet back in 2000, and I lost 60 lbs on it. Since that time, I've graduated college, found a full time job, got married, and had two children who are only a year and a half apart. The good news is I've only gained about 40 of those pounds back- After my second daughter I tried doing WW, but I lost only about 5 lbs in about 2 weeks time- and the points system made it really easy to cheat. So- I've dug up my old Atkins books, dusted it off and searched for some updated info online- and here I am. I hope to learn a lot from this board. Thanks- abbeyrd1

Yay! You've found your way back to Atkins.

You have personal experience that it works, and you've joined the community here. This board is simply awesome - watch how addicting it is! But it's a good addiction.

Thanks for the warm welcome! I want to tell you that I saw your picture the other day on the board and I was really truly inspired by your success. Since, I hadn't heard about the atkins diet in some time- I thought no one was still doing it- On some sites, I just kept seeing really old pictures of people who had succeeded in the past, and I thought there was no one currently succeeding on it- Your pictures have motivated to give it another try- and to really commit to it. I hope my progress is as rewarding as yours has been- Congrats to you, way to go- and you look AWESOME!!!!

For sure, Abbey, there are still quite a few of us who are doing Atkins. And I think that you'll see more and more people opening their minds to it. There's science backing up this way of eating as healthy, and the medical profession is beginning to see the light. My doc LOVES the Atkins way of life, and that sure does make my life a lot easier. It's crazy how many people out there (doctors included), who don't understand this way of eating.
