Default new to the board

Hello!

New to the board. A few of us at work are doing Atkins and I thought I would give it a try (again.) Tried a few years ago and only did for about a week and a half. Now, I am on day 11 of induction and doing fairly well. About 5lbs. lost. Would like to lose about 20 more.

One question, can you eat weight watchers soups in OWL (9 net carbs per serving.)

This site is very informative and motivating!

Thank you!

Greetings, stressmj

Welcome to ADBB!

About the WW soup - without being able to see the ingredient list, I can't tell you whether it is allowed or not. The thing about doing Atkins correctly, is that you really have to scrutinize labels carefully. Since all carbs are not equal, we can't just go by the number of carbs on a food... the specific ingredients are very important. It is possible that this soup contains some type of starch in it... that stuff's in so many things!

Bottom line - while it is true that we can add back a huge variety of nutritious carbs by the time we are in Maintenance, we should always avoid stuff like processed food starch and white flours. So, train yourself to read labels on everything. I can't believe the stuff I find sometimes.

Good Luck!

Hi and welcome, stressmj Great that you've got a built-in support system at work; that's got to help! As you said, this is a great site for info and motivation ... check in often. There are challenges, too (to drink more water; not weigh yourself too often; exercise ... etc). They really help keep you motivated!
