| Hi, Bjorn Welcome to ADBB! ![]() First - there are numerous studies out there confirming the fact that eggs are not the horror that some people thought they were. They are, in fact, quite good for you. Do some research, and you will see. Secondly, it is my opinion that ingestion of cholesterol is a minor influence on the cholesterol levels in our bodies. It is my personal belief, also, that there is a lot of misinformation out there with regard to cholesterol levels and fat in the diet. If you are interested in extra reading regarding this, I suggest "Good Calories, Bad Calories" by Gary Taubes. A little warning, though - this book isn't exactly easy reading... a little too scientific for my taste normally, but it is such important information, that I toughed it out. What an eye-opener! And MOST important - yes, you should have your blood work done as soon as possible. In the 2002 Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, Dr. A strongly suggests having this done, so you can compare your numbers after having been on plan a while. This way, you can watch the improvements happen - very motivating! Also, it can make you aware of any problems you may already have (PRIOR to this way of eating). Thay way, you know that the problems existed before doing Atkins, and is not because of doing Atkins. And make sure to check out this link, if you haven't seen it yet. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...-new-read.html (If you are NEW, READ THIS!) Good Luck! |

| Hi, Thanks for the information. I will certainly buy that book and will try to read it. It seems to be very interesting from the reviews I read. Tomorrow I'm going to go get my bloodwork done. Hopefully all turns out well. Thanks again Regards Bjorn |
