Default Broke my foot and STILL need to lose the 10lbs I gained...

Hi people,
I broke my foot in January doing ballet and though I've tried everything - I am STILL up in my weight all these months later.
So I am trying Atkins for the heck of it.
The day after I snapped my fifth metatarsal - I weighed in at 131lbs. Now I'm up to 141. I'm 5'8".
So, here we go!!

I have no idea if I am doing this correctly. As of today - I have had
2 Hard Boiled Eggs
1 Scrambled Egg w/ Shredded Cheddar
3 Slices Canadian Bacon
Turkey Pepperoni (made into "chips" via micro)
1 Light Babybel Cheese
1 Teaspoon Splenda in my coffee

I've figured this add up to around 4-5 Net Carbs so far?

Next I am going to make a salad with feta and olives as a topper.

I am REALLY NOT used to eating these types of foods. I am always a whole grain girl balancing any fruit with a dairy or protein, I love vegetables and I am a water junkie!!
So, it's weird to now feel like I am eating junk!!

I dance 3 times a week 1 1/2 hours each time currently.
I just need to lose this excess!!
Thanks for any help and advice.

Welcome to the Board!

Some advice:

1. Read the book and follow it religously (DANDR 2002 edition)
2. Read food ingredient labels for corn syrup, sugar, and dextrose
3. Try 65% fat 30% protien and %5 carbs
4. Get FitDay and log your food and exercise
5. Drink at least half your body weight in ounces of water daily.

Good luck!

Well, I drink way over my weight in ounces of water daily - so no worries there! I have the book to pick up from the library tomorrow!

Welcome, Balletgirl. It sounds like you're doing well in your food choices but try for more unprocessed meats. The bacon and pepperoni may have nitrites in them. And you are certainly getting plenty of exercise, even with your foot problem and that's great. Keep it up and the pounds will soon be gone!

Thanks!
I will weed out these and get cooking later after work (no ballet tonite) to eliminate nitrates for sure!!
Thanks!!
