| Hi Jenni, Welcome! Cool that you have decided to do Atkins. I like the idea of perfectly. I think the first thing to do is the read the book. The New Diet Revolution from 2002. There is no better source for perfect. As far as diet drinks are concerned. Atkins is not just a weight fix we are supposed to learn to eat healthy which means we try to cut out bad stuff. Especially in the beginning it is very important to try to avoid sweet stuff. Atkins allowed three servings of artificial sweetener a day but he did not like aspartame-which he thinks is a staller. Also diet coke and pepsi has caffeine - another chemical Atkins says makes us gain weight (and he is right). Good luck to you. Hope to see you around. Asking questions, reading and participating here is a great way to stay motivated.

| As liv stated diet soda is discouraged. Some people cut it out cold turkey & some people have to cut it out gradually. There is Diet Coke made with Splenda. Also Waist Watcher's is made with Splenda as is Diet Rite. Good luck on your journey. Please do yourself a huge favor & read the book. You can get the book at Amazon.com.
