| As for your friend~tell her that low carbers use Splenda;I'm not sure if she's tried that but even with that you wanna keep things in perspective. Some low-carbers don't use any artificial sweeteners, I guess it depends on how strict she wants to be and also how the sweeteners affect her. Honey and sugar are not very carb friendly and if she's staring induction than those two are off limits completely for the firs two weeks. Have her pick up a copy of the DANDR and read up on her options. Now as for you...happy almost birthday to you! I'm a huge fan of people teaming up with family. You will find it's the perfect support system and it will make meal planning and grocery shopping so much easier when you eat the same thing. Make sure to keep each other accountable and exercise together as well. Atkins, as I'm sure you know, will help get that diabetes and PCOS in check so that's even more incentive for you. There are sections for breast feeding mothers, PCOS, and diabetics following Atkins so make sure to peek in there for added support. (in case you haven't already found them Good luck to you!
