Hi! My name is Jane. I'm a grad student and I'm 25. I've been on/off atkins for years (I once stayed on for over a year and lost about 20 lbs) but here I am again. I started a very strict phase one with exercise about a week ago and I've been loosing weight, yay! (It always starts easy for me, though).

I have two questions:
How private is this? Can anyone search for my email and find my username or info?
Secondly, I am looking for a diet buddy. It would be nice to to have someone who is around my height and weight. If you are my height/weight (or around my measurements [bust: 38, smallest point around waist: 32, hips: 40.5]) but don't want to be diet buddies, I would still love to exchange pictures so we can see what our weight/height look like from a different view (I know people carry weight differently, but just to get an idea).

dear jane, i'm sorry nobody got to this post of yours. perhaps no one answered because of the questions and they really didn't know how to answer. at any rate, welcome to the adbb!

i'm glad you have it easy in the losing catagory! i wish we all had that kind of history. i'm sure you'll have great progress this time around also.

as for the questions:
your email address does not appear in a public forum where it can be used or searched.
we all see your username as it appears on your posts but no one
has the ability to search anything other than what you might display on your public profile page.
spammers, trolls and predators do appear on the board and can be very sly about asking for information but that is always your choice whether to provide said information or not. admins and moderators urge anyone and everyone not to give out information unless you have established a safe relationship with
the asking member.

as for the buddy, you might want to search the Before and After forum and see if there is someone who has already posted a picture that fits the bill on what you are looking for. you also
might want to post in the mentors/buddies/penpals forum.

Believe me, 2 inches doesn't make a big difference. You can post your pics in your sig if you want to upload, then you can share with all of us and update them as you're losing the weight. I think Julirama also has pics in her sig and she's about the same weight as you, and I'm pretty sure she is 5'8"...
