Sweet n Sexy Kat is on a distinguished road
Cool Hey all Low Carb Lifestylers!!!

Hey everyone! My name is Kathy, and my kryptonite is Ice Cream! Just kidding, I just turned 36, and I had a huge wake up call. I looked at myself in the mirror recently, and I saw my mother staring back at me. As a child we all adore our mothers, but I remember seeing my mother as overweight, tired, and old. That is NOT what I wanted to see. More importantly, that is not what I want my daughter to remember. She still thinks I'm beautiful, so while I am able I am going to do anything to give her the beautiful woman I should be.

I was just accepted to a VERY competitive graduate program! I start school again in Jan. I am expected to be a shining example of health, while I am, I don't appear to be. I need to make my health and my appearance a major priority now, because after school starts I won't have time.

I breezed through induction with ease. I lost right at 10lbs then. I have very difficult time counting and planning meals. Primarily because I cook for my whole family, I work full time, and my DH of 14 yrs works overseas most of the time. So, I make sure to have a protein source (lean meat or eggs the size of my fist) and vegetables (carb-wise veggies the size of my flat hand) at every meal. I include a cheese stick or slice of chedder and seeds/nuts for snack. I drink at least 64oz water and 1 diet coke a day. I also measure my ketones every morning, as long as I am trace or small I am happy. If my ketones are too concentrated I include more veggies and the other way around.

I know this is a LONG road, but I am persistant. Besides it took me three years to get into grad school, I can do this!

As soon as I can figure out Pics... I'll post some!

Great job Kathy, you are headed in the right direction. Checking out the board daily can be a huge help.

Hi, Kathy, and welcome! I heard you loud and clear when you said you saw your mother in the mirror ... that's what propelled me, too! You'll do very well here, I'm sure .. you really sound motivated! Congrats on grad school, also
