Re: Newby | | Mitzi, wow! Your the one who made me want to start this in the first place. I was browsing the site, "actually all diet sites" and your pictures were the most compelling. So I stopped and went to Barnes and Nobles, bought the book and came home and read it. So it is too cool that your the first to respond to my post. When I say low fat protein, I meant not frying my bacon in it's own fat in a pan. I microwave it and let the drippings fall thru and then pat off excess drippings. I use my Lean Mean Grillin machine George Forman grill to grill chicken, turkey, lean burgers, and fish etc. I am eating protein, and fat. I eat my veg and cheese omelets and turkey sausage, summer sausage, lot's of vegs but usually raw. I did have a sugar free jello, but think I am over that. I had my inlaws over this weekend and they were eating cheese cakes and Halloween candy etc.. and I was unaffected. I just don't do sweets really. Never really drank cokes. Juice and unsweet tea with sweet and low were my vices, which I would add some soy milk to. I am going to start doing a bit more exercising, but didn't want to over do it as I know too much exercise can cause hunger. I drink all the time, and Lord knows I feel like floating away and am in the bathroom all the time. I also am doing a dual clense with my program as I have some issues with constipation normally. And I didn't want to have issues even more cutting out carbs and adding so much fat and protein. I am taking vits, and flax and fish oil. mag, and calcium and my Bvits. I am a nurse by profession, so of course the high fat low carb diet sounded in sane, then knowing how the body is a machine, it made perfect sense once I read the book. I guess I still have a hard time thinking fat is good.... but am going to follow through the best I can. So far so good. I had blood work taken before I started and once I am on maint. stage I will have more taken to see the difference in my cholesterol levels etc. that is the part that makes me leary... the fat and the cholesterol factor. Anyways, thanks for the support. You quite the inspiration. |
