Talking New and so excited

Hi everyone

Just wanted to introduce myself. I started on Monday so this has been my third full day. It has been pretty simple so far. I have noticed that I am using cheese as my crutch. I need to find a little more variety for meals. My goal is to lose about 60 lbs. I have tried so many diets and excercise but I don't stick to anything.

I have been reading the boards and boy is everyone so helpful. I've already gotten so many helpful hints. This seems to really work and I am very excited and hopeful.

Just a short one, but will keep you all posted on my progress.

Hi Dackma,

Welcome to the forum!

I'm glad to hear things have been going well for you since you began on Monday. Check out the recipe section for some great meal and snack ideas.....there's plenty of ideas to choose from.

Yes cheese can be a crutch can't it.....just make sure you're sticking to the amount your allowed each day...it's been known to slow some people down and on the other hand others are just fine with it when eating the daily amount allowed.

Keep drinking plenty of water and try to fit some form of exercise into your day...even if it's 20 minutes of walking or something like that.

I look forward to hearing about how you're doing, it's great to meet you!

Cheese was my crutch as well. THis may sound weird but the way I kicked that habit was to buy shredded cheese only. It is not as fun to eat as chopping a hunk off the block. It also forced me to cook more so I could put the shredded cheese on top. Now I hardly use cheese at all. Good luck and Merry Christmas!

Thanks everyone for the great welcoming comments. This sense of community really motivates me even more.

Had quite a rough day at work and did not eat all day. I know I should not do this , but this is something I do quite often. But I am better and relaxing a bit. Ate a beef pattie and of course my cheese. But I think I'm going to try Bif Rob's idea and eat shredded cheese.

I still have not weighed myself (been tough) I waant to wait the week before doing it.

Again thanks for listening.
