I NEED this to work!!

Hello everyone, I am a twenty-something mother of two who is about 45 lbs. over weight. I have recently found myself getting tired and unmotivated to do the things that I have loved doing until recently. I want to run and play with my sons without gasping for air. I want to be confident in myself physically so that my husband and I can get back that Fire we once had!
Anyway, probably TMI! I can use all the encouragement that I can get! I am on my second day of induction, and it seems to be going better than I expected 3 pounds down, is that possible??

Yep you can loose 3 lbs of water easily, not to get you discouraged, but the fat will come next if that helps. I need to loose about 45 lbs too. Just stay motivated, however you can and keep coming here for support, recipes...etc. I hope you get that fire back but if it comes back here, I may want to seriously damage my husband!!

It will definately work. Stick with it. I started a week ago and have lost 12 lbs. so far. I am a forty something mother of three and also have the lost "fire". Today it finally hit me that along with my weight gain my personality became negative and sad, DOMINO! Just curious, have you had your thyroid checked? This was also a problem for me.

Cottonwood I like you have absolutely lost part of my personality. Total Domino effect! I seem to be feeling much better already though. I don't know if its the diet or me wanting it so bad. No, I haven't had my thyroid checked. What did that change for you?

Some of the symptoms with my thyroid disorder (hypo) are depression, fatique, weight gain, dry skin, loss of hair, and cold hands and feet. I went to the Dr. in Nov. for depression and they tested my thyroid, thank goodness. I have been on my medication for three months and my whole world has changed. If you want to read up on it, there is a forum specifically for thyroid and atikins on the main forum page. I'm not a Dr. but I thought your situation sounded similar to mine. Hope this helps.

Everything that you just described about your symptoms is exactly what I have been experiencing (except the hair loss.) I had a baby 8 months ago and was put on an antidepressant for post partum, I'm wondering if it IS just my thyroid. Thanks so much!! I'll call my Dr. this afternoon, it can't hurt to have it checked!
