Here we go....again

Hello all,
I am a 30 year old mom of 3 amazing children. I used the Atkins plan several years ago and lost a wonderful amount of weight. I felt great and I know that it works excellent for me. 3 years ago our daughter was born with a massive birth defect that caused my activity level to plummet to sedentary as I was taking care of her round the clock needs. I gained an outrageous 65 pounds and lost a ton of self-confidence. Unfortunately, she passed away exactly 9 months ago today. I finally feel like I am ready to work through some of this grief and take care of myself better. I have three other children beautiful children to be there for. My oldest is 9 and is very active and outgoing, my daughter is 6 and loves to dance (but she also needs to see healthy life-style modeling from me), and my youngest is 7 months old and he deserves a mom who is ready to take on the toddler stages. I feel very blessed to know what works for me (Atkins and walking) and I am ready to go at this again.

At this point I have 56 pounds to go to get down to my wedding day weight and another 10 to go to achieve my end goal. So, with all that being said -- HERE WE GO!

Welcome Mandy, and I'm so sorry for your loss. Losing a child must be the worst pain
I'm so glad you found us , this is a great group, with tons of support, lots of love and you'll meet and make some great friends.

First off, let me begin by telling you how much I sympathize with your loss. I am so sorry that happened to you. I'm proud of you for realizing it's time to take care of you. You're right...those three children at your side need you more than anything. Your sweet daughter also, though, would want nothing but the best for you and her siblings. I feel like we never give all we can until we're the best we can be. So, we're not there yet but we're on our way. I couldn't say that a couple of months ago but at this very moment, we can. We're here to encourage and support. I too, was on Atkins before and knew I had to go back to it....it was a matter of when. If you need anything, reach out and WELCOME home!!
