Default Newbie Intro

I made a intro last night and I guess I didn't do it right because its not here today. I guess I will start out by saying My name is Tori I am a 28 year old nurse and mother of two sons. One 5 and one 1 year old. To make a long story short . My story is alot like others I was a normal weight until I entered Nursing school there I gained up to 180 and by the time I had my first son I was around 240ish lost to 220 and went on the low carb lifestyle back in 2003. I stayed on the 20 carb induction from feb until the begining of april and lost 54 pounds. Easter came I ate peanut butter eggs and never looked back after having my second son I was up to 274. Over the past few months I kept saying I'm going to go back t low carb and do it right. I even once went to the store andbought food to start low carb and never started. On Feb. 1st 2009 I knew i was ready So I started on Feb 2nd 2009 In this past week I have lost 7 pounds. I have not craved anything and there has been plenty of sweets around my house ( a husband who gaines no weight ugh) and I have not given in. Went to a bridal shower this weekend and thought this will really test me and I didnt cheat. I know a week isnt that long of a time but I feel in my heart its time. The three things that I think will keep me motivated are of course My Health, Wanting to be around long term for my children cause if i keep the way im going I will be diabetic and have a stroke or a heart attack b4 im 40, Another thing is doctors say that breast cancer is linked to Obesity ( but dont they say every thing is linked to obesity). My mother was Diagnoised with Breast cancer 5 years ago at the age of 40. That scares me to death ( the women has never weighed over 110 pounds in her life). After talking to my husband and a doctor I have decided once I lose to 150 I will reward my self with a breast reduction. ( yes i know this will not stop breast cancer) But I have been big busted since puberty set in and to have a normal size body anda normal size breast would just be the best reward I can give to myself. I Try to always keep a positive attitude I look forward to meeting others here. I will always do my best to be motivatial to everyone I come across.

hi and welcome to Tori!!! You've come to the right place with the right people -- there is so much support on this site you won't believe it. Use the information here to your advantage, if you don't know something, ask! Get the book and keep it close at hand, read it over and over until everything sinks in.

I woke up just before the first of the year and decided I was ready to do something. I waited until after the new year and after a few days of lurking around to see how things worked I joined and haven't looked back. This is the easiest way to loose weight I've ever encountered (and believe me in 51 years I've tried some crazy ways to loose weight).

You will do fine -- if you can make it through a shower and come out a "winner" you can make it through anything. I sit and eat at the same table that things are passed by that I don't eat, before this would have made me upset and I would have given in -- now I don't let them bother me because I know I feel wonderful when I'm eating properly and drinking enough water everyday.

Join some of the exercise challenges, they only take a few minutes a day and it helps firm things up!! You'll do wonderfully -- and soon you'll wonder why you waited so long to change your life!
