| Hi Sharon, I am sure we have all been where you are at some point in time. You've come to the right place for support. I find that i am more accountable when I post here daily and record my progress in my journal. Think about starting a journal if you don't already have one. Have you read Dr. Atkins book...2002 edition? I know you have done it before but you will find a lot of pertinent information in the book, plus the acceptable food list etc. I am always referring back to my book. Good luck and I look forward to reading about your progress and success. |

| Hey... thank you for your support I'm feeling a little bit better. I think I'll make a journal. I already have one on myspace so I might as well have one on here. Yeah, I've read the book before. I think I'll read it again for inspiration. I like the way it's written, he has so many funny little things he likes to say in there. |

| Sharon, you are off to a great start! I can see you are already posting all over the place here. That will definately help you stay focused and keep accountable. Make use of the FAQ section and search functions, they have incredible amounts of information that most people miss. I have been doing this for a decade on and off (more off than on in the past), and I always browse the FAQ section because there's always more to learn. I'm sure if we see you around here, people will be seeing less of you in a good way. ![]() T. J.

| Sharon the first few days are so hard but just keep thinking about the sexy new you. My husband never gains weight and he wants to eat out all the time. As I look at that yummy menu I just keep reminding myself of the soon to be "new" me. i even posted pictures of hot girls around the house to inspire me to be good and have another burger!! |

| Many people here have had false starts so don't let that stop you. You can do it. Starting a journal is a great idea. I will see you in journals.

| what is that cliche?? a journey starts with a step- something like that anyway. it is overwhelming. all of a sudden you look in the mirror and actually see that fatty staring back is you- that is my situation anyway. i am 7 days cheat free- and it is hard- but i hope to appreciate it more when i finally lose the blubber so that i will never be in the 200's again. we are all in the same boat. we are fat. ask questions, even silly ones- we can support each other and encourage each other. welcome to this place- good luck on your journey.

| Hey Sharon, No worries - you're certainly not alone. I did (attempted) Atkins early last year and lost 25 lbs in about 3 months...then gained it all back. I started again at the beginning of this month, but I've had to take a good hard look and I've realized that for the last two weeks I've been low-carbing, but not necessarily doing Atkins. So this morning I 'm starting a clean induction. I'm going to treat the past two weeks as a sort of preparation. ![]() I've also avoided doing any exercise, which I know is a must - so I'm going to start tomorrow morning. I've never been a fan of plain water, but guess what this girl will be drinking plenty of?? That's right - plain ol' water. I have to, I need to. I make such an effort to keep my home neat and clean and to take great care of my personal property, yet I've been trashing my most prized possession - me. And that's how I need to start looking at this WOL. It won't be quick and easy, but it must be done. I want to be healthy and happy. I'm glad you're here, Sharon - this board is a great source of info and support. You're already on your way!! |
