Talking Starting Saturday!

Hi everyone! Just wanted to declare my start date 2-21-09 (gotta go to the grocery store) and say I'm glad to be here. I have been here before, though not actively - but I am very serious this time. I 've been inspired by all your posts and pictures and can't wait to get started.

Hey! Well awesome job on starting Atkins! You'll do great! As for me, I can't advise you on this diet because I'm way too young to go on it. (I'm 13).
But I can give you support! And I wish you good luck because anyone who wants to change their life and actually goes for it, they have my respect, because oh,so many times I've said "Hey I'm going to diet and lose all of my weight!" and gone on a diet for a day, and then stopped. So you see, since you've committed to this already, you're bound for excellent results.

Just to make you feel a bit better about yourself.
my CW: 265lbs
my GW: 140lbs

125lbs difference. Hard work, but I've got two years 'til high school to lose it all. I've seen people lose twice-maybe even three-times that weight, which inspires me, but it should inspire you too. Because if you seriously strive, you can do practically anything. Good luck!

Welcome Melly -- I'm happy you made the decision to change your life and the lives of your family for the better. I hope you have to book, if you don't get one as soon as possible and refer to it often. Make sure you have the right foods on hand to start. Take your measurements and your weight the morning you start and keep off the scale for at least the first week if not the first 2 weeks - if won't do you any good to be on the scale day after day!!

Another good thing you can do it join some of the exercise challenges - it doesn't take a lot of time to do a few crunches, pushups, some walking, whatever and it will really help you loose the weight and tighten up your body! Also make sure you drink enough water and when you get to 64 ounces for the day, drink at least another glass of water -- that will help push all the impurities out of your system.

Good luck to you -- if you need any help all you need to do is ask! This is a wonderful place and everyone is very helpful!
