Default Newbie from UK so confussed re net carbs

Hi I have been on the atkins for the past 13 days and have lost 3lb so far and am due to have my second weigh in tomorrow. However I am now very confussed after having read a section on carbs and net carbs. I live in the UK and I have been counting carbs by using the packaging on veg etc and deducting the fiber from the carbs to get the net carbs. I now think that I am doing this wrong. As I live in the UK should only be counting the carbs and take that as the net carb and not take off the fibre? Help I am so confussed and this could mean I have been having far too many carbs the last 13 days although on my Keto stick which I test a couple of days I seem to be really high in ketosis most of the time and have stayed in it since the 3rd day.

Please Help sorry to be a pain.

    Ally

    Hi Allykitten

In the UK, the carb content is the net carb content ie fibre has already been deducted. In America, you need to deduct fibre from the carb count as they label their foods differently.

How frustrating for you! At least you know now.

Good luck and let me know if you have any more questions x
