Shanda_Lynn26 is on a distinguished road
Default Newbie in need of buddies!!

I am new to this board but not to Atkins. I actually started last year August 13 2008, weighing 336 pounds and by May 2009 I had lost 136 pounds. I thought that this is where I wanted to be and I "went off" Atkins. Well here I am back at 280 pounds and terribly unhappy that I let myself get back in this situation. I was doing so great with my workouts and eating good, and I just stopped. I never thought that I would because I was so happy and had so much energy. I do not know what happened but I am determined to do this and make it a complete lifestyle change. I did not know about this website before and now I am glad that I do. Hopefully I can meet some really great people on here, and not just that but people that know what I am going through. It is my dream to live a long and HEALTHY life, and hey look good while I am doing it. I am grateful that I can have a support group on here, and somewhere to vent my frustrations, but to chart my progress as well. I am going to be a lifelong member here. I hope to talk with some of you very soon!!

And I am still learning how to navigate the site and use all of the "gadgets" on here, so if anyone wants to offer help, please do.

Welcome Shandra, you came to the right spot. Check in the Century Club as those folks are always having a party over there, celebrating successes, etc.
You'll find lots of buddies here. .

hi Shandra -- hope you have your DANDR book close at hand and are referring to it! Good luck in your journey -- you have the advantage of knowing how the plan works so you are ahead of the crowd to begin with!

The best thing you can do is journal - it gives you a place to get your feelings down and also you'll meet a great bunch of people who are very happy to help with whatever you need.

Also, join some challenges -- there are so many to choose from and they don't cost a dime! Everyone has room to do pushups, situps, ab crunches, squats and when you are done with those you can join the cheat free, water and scale free challenges -- those are just a few of the many challenges out there -- when you join in you have a place to be accountable, that seems to help me!

Good luck on your journey. Go to the forum section and check out all the different groups to join. This is a wonderful place to be when you need help, a friend or just some advise. Before you know it you'll be one of those dishing out the advise to others!

Welcome to the board, Shandra! I know how frustrating it is to lose a lot of weight and then regain it, but you just have to leave all of that behind you and start again, knowing that if you did it once, you can do it again. We are here to help so it will be easier with the support you will find here in our family.
