| Welcome back. No holidays coming up that can't be Atkinized. Corned beef and cabbage for St. Patty's Day and ham and faux "tater" salad or scalloped "potatoes"and deviled and/or pickled eggs for Easter. I have found over the years that I can compensate and come up with a holiday feast that is Atkins legal and very tasty. It's hard if you are still on induction, but once you are up to rung three, even desserts become easy. When you decide to make this your new way of eating for life, you can start to find ways not to feel deprived on special days. Don't wait until the day before Christmas to find recipes that are delicious and legal. You've got all summer with barbeque holidays being the easiest to eat what everyone else eats, only make it low carb. You can do this! I know you can! Sunny!

| Hi, Monie ![]() I'm glad that you've found your way back to us. I know EXACTLY of what you speak... the recent holidays were my first downfall since my restart in Feb '07. I crossed the carbage line on Thanksgiving, awakened my carb addiction, and after numerous false starts to get back on plan, I finally got my act together again. But it took all the way until Feb. 1st to get straight! My gosh, it's so hard to turn that train around, once it gets rolling. Let me assure you, though - once you finally re-establish the mental connection with the Atkins WOE, it really does start to just flow again. Thank goodness! Try to stay as active as you can on the board. It really does help. Good luck! |
