SO glad to find you all...

Hi there... I have done Atkins before, but I always returned to my old way of eating after about 1 1/2 weeks. I could never find foods I liked or the discipline to stick to it. However, I was at work a couple weks ago, and as I was walking down the hall, my footfalls were so heavy that I was mistaken for my MUCH bigger boss. I must have looked suprised, because one person looked at me and said, "well, you ARE pretty heavy..." I was mortified. I came home and REALLY looked at myself after that. He was right. I have an enormous stomach and rolls on my back. Yuck. I guess I had gotten used to looking in the mirror and seeing the old, pre-kid me that I was pretty good at living in denial!

I've been coming in here for recipes and reading your posts for the last two weeks, but I was afraid to join, because I was afraid I would FAIL again. I am happy to say, though, that I have stuck with this for two weeks tomorow, and plan on doing extended induction for about another two weeks. It's great! I lost my sweet cravings because of your recipes (I didn't have those the other times, so I was eating those bars) and the folks at work are jealous because I have stuck with it when they have cheated on thier diets. I haven't weighed myself at all, though I plan to buy a scale today. I am fitting into pants I haven't work in 2 years. I guess have rambled on long enough, to to wrap up, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Congratulations you have two weeks under your belt! You did it! You did it! You got past that 1 1/2 week hump that you couldn't get over before. Way to go! Pretty soon your co-workers will be commenting on you melting away. I agree with Chicklady about them being jealous about all the yummy food you'll get to eat and still lose weight.

Sometimes something painful has to happen to us for us to realize we need to do something for ourselves and lose the weight.

I'm glad you're here. This is a great place to be for knowledge, support, encouragement, motivation, etc.
