| How did you conclude you are out of ketosis? The ketostix don't say the whole truth. There is a sticky thread about things that might influence the color they show: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...tix-color.html (Questions about ketostix color) There is no reason why Ibuprofen would throw one out of ketosis.

Imagine that you're doing great, losing weight, feeling better than ever, thrilled with yourself, hearing compliments from friends and acquaintances---and then it happens! Despite all your good intentions, you're mightily tempted by a food you're not supposed to have. What to do? I'll tell you this: You'd better have a strategy ready!" | Welcome to the board, nenad, and congratulations on your wonderful weight loss! That's fanastic!! I hope your strain is getting better now. As Georgiana says, ibuprofen shouldn't throw you out of ketosis. Maybe something has slipped into your diet that did it. It happens sometimes. Maybe it's from an additive in a food you've eaten so be sure to read the labels on things. |

| your replies have helped a great deal. i checked again 6 hours later and things are back to normal in terms of ketone stick colors. but as perry indicated - it is easy to get too focused on the ketone stick color. again much thanks for the feedback. |

| In your post, you said "this morning." Did you test as soon as you woke up this morning? I believe for an accurate reading you're supposed to test about two hours after a meal. Tfek70 knows the deal with this. I believe he called the manufacturer for the "skinny" on how to best use the stix. OTC pain killers won't throw you out though. How much water are you drinking? If you're guzzling it down, that can make your results appear to be more diluted on the stix. |
