Default new to atkins, new to the board

just started atkins about a little over a week ago. on induction, with one intended slip for a friend's bday dinner. straight back on. so far, so good. down about five or six pounds. looking forward to supporting everyone here.

btw, what's everyone doing for variety of food during induction?

Question Re: new to atkins, new to the board

Hi Im new to Atkins also. I read the 92 Atkins book and started induction today. I was reading around and saw everyone was saying to go on fitday. When I logged my food in that Ive ate so far today, it told me I was up to 17g of carbs. When I go by the Atkins carb counter Im only at 9.5. At this point Im confused and feel like even thought i think I know this diet, maybe I don't and Im doing it wrong. Can someone help me? This is what I've ate so far
B-2 hardboiled eggs, decaf coffee with heavy whipping cream and splenda
L-chicken breast and 2/3 cup summer yellow squash
Snack-SMALL hamburger patty and string cheese

It is better to create your own thread or your posts will not get enough "traffic".

Lemme see... Are you counting total carbs? Here we are following DANDR 2002, so we are counting net carbs instead. To find net carbs in FitDay, simply subtract the dietary fiber from the total amount of carbohydrate.

I believe that the best way to overcome temptation is not with willpower, which is so often in short supply, but with our brain power, a potentially unlimited resource.

Imagine that you're doing great, losing weight, feeling better than ever, thrilled with yourself, hearing compliments from friends and acquaintances---and then it happens! Despite all your good intentions, you're mightily tempted by a food you're not supposed to have. What to do? I'll tell you this: You'd better have a strategy ready!"
