| Hi Im new to Atkins and adbb also. I have a question. I started induction today and decided to use fitday to also track my food. Im just past lunch and its telling me that my carbs are already up to 16.3grams. Atkins says that meats, cheeses (under 3 oz), and eggs are free food, yet Im getting 3 carbs per egg. Am I doing something wrong? Did I read the book wrong. Im so confused at this point and feel like Im not going to do this right. Here's what I've ate so far For Breakfast: 2 hard boilded eggs (I was in a hurry) cup of decaf coffee with heavy whipping cream and 2 packs of splenda Lunch: Boneless Chicken breast, 2/3 cups of yellow squash Snack: 1 mozerrala string cheese |

| Hi ladies -- on Fitday you'll want to enter things as "raw" -- it figures in the way it was cooked and that's not necessarily correct - I put 2 large eggs then I add the oil I used .... there are scant carbs in eggs and some people round up to 1 per egg but they are including the way it was cooked. Also, we go by net carbs you'll have to set up FirDay to show your net carbs ... or you can make custom foods and subtract the net carbs out of foods -- 1 cup of yellow squash is net carb 2.6 according to Fitday (that's raw) then you'd add butter or oil, however your cooked it. My package of string cheese says less than 1 carb but I'd say 1 carb to be on the safe side. Elliena -- don't quit this time, the food tastes so good to give up and go back to your old ways! Get up and exercise everyday -- dance, walk, whatever you want to do to get moving. Drink at least 64oz of water everyday -- that is essential! Eat only the foods on the induction list - if it's not on the list it's not legal and don't eat it!!! Good luck to both of you!!

| Welcome Elleina and oktxgrl ![]() Elleina, there are plenty of us who have gone that route. Sometimes, it just takes a few times to get it right OKtx grl....I don't know about the obline version, but the PC version (I think its $30 ) gives you many choices to enter a food...summer squash boiled will be much different that just "cooked" because they assume certain additions that you may not have made (like sugar!!!!) I've had my PC version for years, and can look back and tell you what I've stuck in my mouth everyday, how many carbs per day I've averaged, how my nutrient intake is, etc. It's awesome. |
