Wink Was lurking

Well, have been reading here for weeks and thought I may as well sign up and say HI.
My story? Quick and easy. Was almost always overweight, even as a child.
I kept my weight usually around 155 (I'm 5'5.5"), then I broke my back..that was 20 pounds and then at 35 total/rad hysterectomy....there was another 10 so last time I was at the dr's I weighed in at 189. I started induction March 9'th.
And today? Well scale was 177.5. Last time I measured (am doing that once a week and plan to scale back weighing myself to that as well) I had lost 3 inches total. So approx 10 pounds and 3 inches during the first 2 weeks on induction. Would have loved to be one of the folks that dropped 20+ on induction but know with no hormones, my body is different. That's OK, because I am seeing the loss and know that this weight didn't pack on in two weeks. I am staying on the extended induction another 2 weeks at least due to having a harder time dropping. I do admit, the thought of any diet didn't appeal to me, but I feel super! I am not hungry, I am using fitday and vary from 70/25/5 to 65/30/5 so have been very close to what I should be at. I am doing my treadmill 5-6 days a week usually get in 2 miles sometimes more, just depends on my kids needs and my work schedule.
My biggest vice was coffee sweet and light. When I plugged into fitday how much I was using on an average day that was over 100g carbs! No wonder my weight kept going up! I allow myself 1-2 mugs of coffee sweetened with splendia and of that only one has the cream. Learning to "like" coffee black wasn't something I thought I could do, but has been fine, and I've been OK with it not causing any cravings. I have discovered over the first two weeks that 4oz of cheese or less just doesn't do well with my body so have been cutting that some. Aside from that this really isn't as bad as I thought it would be. Look forward to chatting with all of you and THANK you for all the inspiration I have read on this board

Welcome to the board, mom24! I'm glad you have decided to join us here!

Congrats on losing the 10 lbs and 3 inches! That's good for someone at your starting weight so don't be discouraged that it wasn't more. If you find that your weight stalls on extended induction, don't be afraid to move up to rung one because that's what happened to me. I started at a little above where you were and stalled on week 3 or 4 but started losing again as soon as I move on.

You are doing a great job on your percentages so keep it up, and all that walking will certainly help speed your loss!

So keep reading the forums and keep us posted on your progress.

You can have cream in your coffee and splenda -- just watch your totals for the day! You're allowed 2 - 3 Tbsp of cream and 3 packets of splenda daily. I drink decaf with splenda and cream.

Congrats on getting here and starting on your road to the mom you want to be! Good luck on the journey ... I can't wait to see your progress!
