| Welcome, ArcticSP! Glad you are reading up on the book so you have a solid foundation for your new way of eating. The temptation to cheat will always be there... and it's probably worse at college than most places. But if you can keep your goal and priorities firmly in mind, it will help you through the tough times. Be sure to keep legal snacks handy for when those times hit. And the very best of luck to you. |

| Welcome arctic. I can definitely relate to your situation. Same thing happened to me in college, and I ended up weighing the same as you. It sounds like Atkins will be perfect for you as it was/is for me. You're reading the book, which is the best advice I can give. The other piece of encouragement I can offer is that while on Atkins, I am really not hungry anywhere near as much as I was before. Sure, there are times I am mildly hungry and will eat, but there are no ravenous cravings. Actually, as I think about it, one more thought: since you're in college, chicken wings might be your new best friend (unbreaded). They're easy to get in college, are low-carb, and you can eat them while everyone else is eating pizza. Good luck, and keep us posted...

| Thanks for the encouragement and advice Never thought of the chicken wings, good idea, I was worried about things being awkward going out with my friends. Yeah, I second that study grazing. Also a bad habit of mine. I've been working on that lately. I've been eating better the past few weeks, but decided I wanted to do more. I wanted to get serious and make a few changes in my life. PS: first day is going good... I had a delicious omelet this morning, some string cheese for a snack during class, and I just finished an awesome BLT salad that I whipped up this morning. Plus I started taking the stairs to my 4th floor class. ArcticSP
