If those numbers are correct, that's got to be some sort of record!

Well, I would not doubt that a large majority of it was water weight. I've had edema in my legs since I had ankle surgury 9 years ago.

Well I weighed in yesterday, and another 3 lbs gone. I am now down to 396 lbs.

I would say that I am proud of how well I am doing, but last night human weakness struck

I ate a fat cheese burger last night from a local drive in that we all love to go to. Well the cheese burger is not bad, but I ate it bun and all, plus I had a measely 3 breaded mushrooms. My blood sugar was fine all night and this morning, but when I did the Ketostix this morning, it was negative!!!

I am so upset with myself it is unbelievable. I have a new mantra that I have been repeating all morning since then "Bread is the Devil"

The reason I am so upset is that I am a hot or cold person, there is no in between for me. My wife tried consoling me saying that I should be proud of how well I had done and 1 slip up is not that big of a deal, to just let it go. I know she really means well, but it is unacceptable to me that I let myself fall off track.

Well, back to strict induction. I will not be happy until I am back in ketosis/lipolysis, and losing weight as efficiently as I should be.

Went to donate plasma this afternoon (well actually yesterday now that its after midnight) and I am liking the medical center's scales much better than the recycle center. According to the medical center, I weighed 393 lbs, so that would be a total of 40 lbs gone in 30 days. That is too unreal to even think about.

More good news, I am also back in ketosis after my short lapse Friday night. The ketostick tonight showed "trace" and I am happy with that because, as others have said, you either are in ketosis or you are not.

All I know is that I am back on track, and that is what counts. I am much happier than I was a few days ago

Good news, Rick!
When I was at the in-laws for 10 days a couple of weeks ago, I discovered their scale was off at least 4 kg (~9lbs) when the person was over 100kg. Not only that, it varied by like 2 kg and had tiny numbers. To put it mildly, the scale in the guest bathroom flat out sucked. So I bought a new one with the intention of leaving it there -- from Tefal, digital, BIG digits, resolution of 100 grams (< 1/4 pound), stable reading and memory (for example, flashes a green light and says you've lost 0.4kg since last weigh in).

Here's the point though, it works up to 160kg which is 352lbs. I'm guessing this is a standard high point of today's home scales. If you keep losing weight at your fast clip, soon you'll be "in range" to use a modern home scale. That's a nice goal to work towards, no?

Sounds like a great scale. Did you get it at a local store or did you buy it online?

It is made by Tefal and it's called "Evolis". I bought it in a local store in Spain. I suspect Tefal is sold in the USA though, and calibrated in pounds.
