Hi Rick, Thanks for sharing your story with us. I also live in Green Bay! This is my first day on this site. I felt the need to reach out to other low carb people, in need of eachother's support. I had been trying for years to change my lifestyle to the Atkins way of eating, and had found success, only to fall of the boat several times. I realize the error of my ways and have resigned myself to the fact that my body is so incredibly sensitive to processed food, sugar, flour, starch, etc. and it's time that I make the change forever! I currently weigh about 217. I started Atkins 50 days ago at 235 pounds, so I have lost almost 20 pounds! I know that sounds really amazing, but I have been here several times before. about 6 years ago, I actually lost 40 pounds but stopped the diet. Not sure what de-railed me, but I'm trying again. and this time I mean business!! I'm 38 years old, and a mom. Never been too physically active, but last year had a sudden urge to start power walking/jogging, which was great. I started getting addicted to it and thought it would continue, but when the weather started getting cold, I quit and gained back 15 pounds in winter. So, I am definitely one of these ultra sensitive body types who has always struggled with my weight, but I am simply not going to let it get the best of me. I came here to make some buddies, and to be a friend to people like you.. cuz we should all stick together! WE can do it! Who's with me?? Natcat

Jill, I know what you mean by trigger foods. I still have the involuntary reflex to reach for a bun when having either hotdogs or hamburgers. Bread has been my greatest weakness. Regular soda on the other hand, I have come to the mindset that it is liquid poison, and have really been discouraging my family from drinking it. The main problem with that is I am usually speaking to deaf ears, as they want no part of my "crazy" diet. Natcat, Great job hanging in there for 50 days. If you ever plan on travelling to the Milwaukee area, send me a PM. Maybe we could meet up for coffee or something. Oh, and btw, totally off topic, did you see good ole' Brett quite possibly will be signing on with the Vikings? Ok all, I should have another weight update, as I am going back to the Plasma center tomorrow. I will post the scale reaults when I get back home. God Bless, Rick

Yeah, I was thinking about throwing out a good natured taunt about Brett yesterday. I'm guessing nothing comes of it though. I'm an AFC man (Dolphins) but I usually adopt an NFC team so I have some team to root for on the other side. Sorry, as much as I like Aaron Rodgers, I'm following the Bears this year (and actively rooting for the Broncos to go 2-14 or worse). Favre in the NFC North will bring a lot of drama to the now QB-rich division - everybody will tune in for Packers-Vikings, Packers-Bears, and Bears-Viking. Brett likes being in the spotlight, but I still say Ted Thompson doesn't have to worry about this potential PR nightmare.

Hi and thanks for the reply and encouraging words. I think Brett is schizophrenic or something, LOL! Back to the weight loss thing>.i seem to have hit a plateau for the past few weeks where I seem to be stuck, although I am following the low carb diet perfectly and taking supplements, doing everything I should and nothing I shouldn't. I just have to hang in there I guess. When I exercised alot last year, it boosted weight loss. Obviously, I'm going to have to do that. glad I found this site and some supportive friends. Let's stick together. We can do this. Nat

JR, Root for who you will, no biggy to me...lol. We all have to defend our favorites. Anyway, my daughter was on one of those oxy-moron photo sites, and found a pic of a WI special edition GB Packer license plate....in all its glorious Green and Gold, it said, GO JETS....I laughed my a$$ off at that one. NatCat, Hitting a plateau sucks, been there done that more times than I care to remember I think you're right about upping the exercise level to help jump start the weight loss again. Best of luck, and keep us informed. OK, now for my update.... I went to donate plasma again yesterday, and I weighed in at 390 lbs 3 lbs closer to goal
