Default Hi everyone :)

Just started a week ago, and didn't run into this BB till yesterday. I'm so glad a place like this exists, i've been reading many posts with very useful information. It seems every time i have a question there is already an answer here, so thank you all!

I started at 400lb a week ago, and in order to achieve a healthy BMI it seems i need to lose basically half of my weight, so i've got a long road ahead of me, but after reading some of the success stories i'm very determined!

Welcome kradec, congratulations on the loss

It's hard when you look at that big number and say 'I have to lose XXX lbs'. Try to set mini-goals for yourself, break it up into smaller, more manageable chunks

Atkins is a lifetime committment - if you do it until you reach your goal weight, then go back to your old lifestyle, you will gain it all back. I try to look at it as a lifestyle change with the bonus benefit of losing weight.

There is a TON of exellent information and advice on this board. Have a good look around

welcome to the best place for you to be!! We are all here to support each other, answer questions and for friendship.

WAY TO GO on your loss so far! You're doing great. Like Julie said it's so much easier to make small goals to reach, but keep your eye on the big prize at the end also. There are so many success stories here, and after a few days you'll find you wonder why you haven't been eating this way before.

Drink at least 64 ounces of pure water a day -- eat only the food on the acceptable food list and get some type of exercise everyday. You can walk, dance around the room, stand close and do "push-ups" against the wall - anything and everything helps!!

Here are a few recipe sites you can use to help find delicious meals to eat. Make sure you are only eating induction foods to begin with!! There are several challenges and groups to help you, all you have to do is join!

Good luck on your journey, you'll make it to the end before you know it!!
