| Hi, Good luck with this journey, this WOE is sometimes not easy, because there are so many foods out there loaded with carbs, and you (like most of us) have been mindlessly eating these most of our lives. This is the second time around for me, I lost 40 lbs on this diet about 6 years ago, I slowly put them back on and added a few just for fun. What I can tell you is that if you stick with it you WILL lose many pounds and inches, the most important thing is to be informed about what you eat. I would think many Indian dishes can be consumed, but not with rice, what the veggies (refer to the veggie list in the induction phase forum) and drink plenty of water!!!!!!!! I started dieting at the beginning of the year, I lost 25 lbs on a "regular diet" but I hit a wall and couldn't lose anymore, so the day after Easter I started Atkins. I lost 5 lbs immediately, and 5 more since then. So strap yourself in and just do it..... |

| Welcome! The only pointers I have for you are pointing you towards this sticky thread http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...-approach.html (BEFORE you begin the Atkins Nutritional Approach...) As for the Indian cuisine, I have no idea other than no to samosas and rice and anything with potato right now.

| Welcome! I think some important things are: 1) Read the book ![]() 2) Follow the rules of induction and avoid sweets/caffeine/aspertame if you can for 2 weeks. ![]() 3) exercise. ![]() 4) realize that this is a lifestyle change - a forever lifestyle change - it gets less strict as time goes on, but you can never go back to the way you used to eat if you want to keep the weight off. ![]() We are all in this together - welcome to the board!

| Full fat salad dressing, no sugar added - all ingredients have to be induction friendly. Count the carbs in it against your daily totals. Best to use Mayo or make your own! I'll leave the milk question to someone more experienced with OWL (Dairy is Rung 2).
