| Welcome to the board, Myturn! I'm glad that you've decided to join our family and have come back to the only diet that works. If you do Atkins as written, you will lose weight. Just remember that those carbs are not your friends. The foods on plan are delicious and after a few days, you won't even miss the bad stuff! Good luck to you! |

| To understand the plan and live by it you should read the 2002 DANDR book. For the first 14 days don't cheat -- eat only things on the acceptable foods list - drink at least 64 ounces of pure water (nothing else counts - just pure water), exercise and you will see results. If you have a bad day come here and find the support you need. If you stall just remember you won't loose a pound a day or even sometimes a week -- the older you are, the meds you take, your hormones all get together to see how much they can mess with you. In those times you need to be stronger and work harder to get to your goal. When I was 20 I could loose weight by missing a meal....when I was 30 I could diet for a week...now I fight for each pound I loose, but it means more when they do go because they are gone for good this time.
