| My mom let me barrow that book. I have been reading up on it. I can't seem to remember AT ALL if I had ANY water yesterday. I know I had my diet green tea... but as far as water, I have no clue. I know that in the induction you can eat UP TO 20g of carbs. I try to keep myself around 10 a day if that. I can't eat three times a day without feeling like I am going to explode. I do make little snacks for me to eat throughout the day though... things with cheese and cream cheese, that are low carb. I sometimes get an atkins bar or atkins shake.... I am doing a lot better at eating then I used to be doing. |

| Welcome to the board, JillianJ! You have a lot going on in your life and I hope you soon have your dental problem fixed and over with. The medications you are taking are probably interferring with your weight loss so the sooner you can stop taking them, the better. Let us know how it all turns out! I would suggest that you keep a written record of what and how much you eat and the water you drink. They say that memory is the biggest liar of all! And it's always nice to be able to go back and see what you were doing that made you lose or gain weight at any given time. Good luck! |

| Welcome to the board! Please make sure you eating your 3 cups of veggies a day - 2 cups of salad veggies and 1 cup of other veggies from the acceptable list. Water is SO important, please drink the minimum 64oz or more...I drink at least 96 oz per day, and its tough at first, but then you crave it Oh and one more thing...cheese is limited to 3-4 oz per day, so watch portions! Cheese can causes stalls in some people. Other than that...I hope your tooth problem clears up quickly

| remember cheese is limited to something like 3-4oz a day. some of us can't even handle that (raises hand) lol. If I have more than 2oz a day cheese and dairy slow me down, so more often than not i just use cream in my coffee and avoid cheese 80% of the time. Maybe two days i week I have a meal with 1oz of cheese. It does suck because cheese is one of my favorite snacks too, but its too easy for me to overeat it so just like anything else I tend to overeat, I taught myself to do it in low moderation. as far as you gain goes, dont worry too much! i lost 10 my first week, and gained 5 my second and third. its something called post induction stall syndrome (PISS). all that initial weight loss is usually water, so you may be dehydrated. once your body gets back in the groove, it tends to hold onto water again at the same time you're losing fat, so it may show as a stall or even a gain. but dont worry because as long as you are eating proper induction food and drinking enough water you are losing fat. try keeping up with your measurements, what the scale doesnt show the tape measure sometimes does. don't worry about the idea of eating 3 huge meals and 2 small snacks. eat when you're hungry and eat till you're full. that being said however, you -should- be aiming for 3 cups of veggies a day like claire says. i try to make my biggest meal of the day breakfast (which believe me took some doing, from someone who spent years not eating breakfast) it keeps my metabolism going all day, and i suffer less cravings and less hunger later in the day as long as i start out right! i try to get a good chunk of my fats in for breakfast, and have a light lunch and a light dinner most of the time, and only snack if my other meals are at weird times of the day. cut out the atkins bars and shakes though. they may say they are ok for induction but they lie! chocolate, milk, whey, all the stuff those are made with aren't on the acceptable food list, and are only ok if you're in an emergency where you have gone more than 5-6 hours without eating. those might be slowing you down.
