Welcome to Atkins! I know how hard it is to not eat what your friends do because I was an overweight teen too. I lost 60 lbs. when I was 14 and kept it off until I got married in my 20's. You have the right attitude and that's half the battle and with your Mom's support, you will succeed. We are here for you!

Hi there! You are just precious and so lucky you have a Mom that wants to help you. Your friends may be eating all that pizza now, but in the next year or two they are going to be freaking out about weight... and coming to you for YOUR SECRET of staying in shape! Then you'll be the one deciding if you want to tell them! Best of luck on your new diet.... whats for dinner? MEAT! lol

eeeeew! Stay away from that gum... it will mess it up! Go for any meat left overs, around the third or fourth day you will have a happier feeling, it just goes along with it. You will start to feel less hungry because those fat cells are tapped into (ketosis) and just being used up constantly! Really neat! Eat meat when ever you are hungry, just some, it doesn't have to be alot. Cook some small meatballs, keep them in a zip lock in the frig. nuke a couple to heat them up and snack on those as you need them between meals, boiled eggs are good too. That will help with the headache too.

My son's favorite snack on this plan is to microwave a slice of American cheese cut into squares (do it on parchment or waxed paper) for about 90 seconds. It turns the cheese into cheesit like crackers. Great snack. As a teen the Atkins adult program isn't as good for you nutritionally. You need more calcium and other nutrients. There is a program for teens---I am hoping one of the moderators will see your post and point you in that direction. Welcome to the plan and congratulations on your quick start.

One last thing, don't forget to check into the teen forum. Its slow sometimes but even if you find one person to connect with its worth it.
