Smile Hello!

Hi All! So glad to be here! I joined up last March and ended up feeling terrible in the beginning...possible induction flu...so I gave up. But I gave it another whirl starting about 3 weeks ago and I am doing well this time. I lost 8 pounds the first 10 days or so and then stayed the same untill today...down 1 more pound! I have had a couple cheats and that is likely why the weight loss stalled but I am so on track now!! My big thing is I have to remember to eat! I am not very hungry on Atkins(bonus!) so hours can go by I am realize I did not eat!!
I am also a type 2 diabetic and since starting again I have sugars of 5 to 7 wonderful...rather than 15 to 25. Believe it or not I have went off my meds as well...do not need them!I am sure that if I started to eat my "Old way" I would need them but I feel wonderful eating like this!!!!

hi and welcome back Dorrie -- I'm so glad you are back and doing so well. There are several forums I can tell you about -- the first is the STAC - second time around club since you were on plan once before. The other is the diabetic forum - I am a Type 2 diabetic and post there often.

Even if you aren't hungry you need to remember to eat something to keep your blood sugar level -- remind yourself because it is very important!

Here are a few links to help get you started....if you need anything just ask!!

Rules of Induction:

Just to remind you -- eat only foods on the acceptable food list.....drink at least 64 ounces of pure water daily (more is best) and start exercising today - no excuses!

Default Re: Hello!

Hi Carole!! Thank you for the welcome and all of the information! I joined the water challenge and thank you for the reminder to exercise daily with no excuses!! Tomorrow we are headed for the Toronto Zoo for a C.F. walkathon...I am sure that will put in ALOT of walking time and help drop some more lbs! I am so excited about losing weight. I did drop 60 pounds years ago...eating strict low fat...gained it back of course...all but 1 pound of it. I remember how good I felt...how healthy I felt...how energenic I was....I want that back now. Even this 9 pound loss I feel a big difference...in clothes and in an overall less bloated feeling. I am 194 lbs now....5 more pounds and I am in the 180's....have not been there in years!!!! I will be a "sexy grandma" before you know it!! (if I listen to people like you Carole!!!)
Thanks again for the welcome, see you soon!
Dorrie

Hi Dorrie! You're an inspiration to me with your weight loss & determination. It's ok to come off the wagon, it's the getting back that counts (imho)...look forward to getting to know you better here on the board! You're not alone in your struggle! Have a slight headache w/ 2nd day induction, but am trying to drown it w/ coffee & water (tiny bit sugar in coffee, no cream)...balletlover
