| Welcome to the board, Shawna! And congrats on your loss so far! You will be allowed alcohol again on rung 5 so giving it up temporarily shouldn't be too hard, knowing it isn't forever. Good luck to you! |

| when you go to the bars with your friends you can order a "legal" drink -- mineral water with a twist....I bartended for what seems forever - you won't believe the number of people who came in and ordered either regular water w/a twist or mineral and a twist. Ask for a Tom Collins glass - it's taller and thinner but it makes YOU believe you are drinking right along side your friends. When you go out WHO IS THE DESIGNATED DRIVER? It's not safe to go without one -- you can volunteer to be that responsible adult among your friends. If you follow the plan and move up the rungs as the plan was written you'll be able to have your precious drinks before you know it....BUT when you get there remember the alcohol has carbs so while you are taking away from the daily carbs you are allowed to eat you are cheating your body of nutrition it needs to help you stay healthy and loose the weight. I prefer to eat my carbs, not drink them!

| Hi Shawna, Carol gave you some good advice. I know alcohol and clubbing go together but right now the priority needs to be the plan. As Carol said, get something that looks like it fits the scene and learn to enjoy the evening without the buzz. You are losing just fine but I bet the weekends are holding you back more than you know. |

| Yeah I totally agree and when the night starts I have every intention on staying on track but I often fail. I am working on it. Saturday nigth is going to be another challenge , I have my cousins engagement blowout and they are having Margaritas galore. I def no I can't have those soo much sugar!!! we will see |

| I was saying for YOU to be the DD - that would be your reason for not drinking with the rest of the crowd. And as far as margaritas, yep, they are out....the sweet syrup they are made with will knock you out of keotsis (and make you gain weight) almost as fast as the salt rimmed glass will make you retain water!
