Default Introduction, needing advice

Hi,

I am looking to lose body fat while becoming toned/fit.. I am 1 1/2 weeks into induction phase and my weight is still roughly the same (I am assuming and hoping that is because of weight lifting). Saw some slimming results during week one (not in actual weight, but size), but it seems to have stopped there.

I am eating roughly 3 - 4 meals per day however on some days I wont return home from the gym until after 10 pm and dont like to eat that late so i will have a protein shake (4 g Carbs) and a very small meal ( 1-2 pieces of ham and a pollyo cheese stick)

Taking L Glutamine supplements, along with a multi vitamin, fiber, and A b-complex vitamin. I drink caffeine some days heavier than others depending on how awake I am, but a protein powder (4g Carb) mixed with water every day after weight training.

Ketostix show slight color, and am not sure if this is legitimate progress or I am doing somehing wrong.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike

The weight is not the problem just body fat, love handles a little excess on the stomach and butt... Id be okay if the scale said 600 as long as the body fat percentage is low lol and body looks toned rather than frail (which is what im afraid of with no weights and rapid induction weight loss) Hopefully there is someone out there that has gone through this and has some good advice for us.

Are you eating 3 cups of veggies a day? That's mandatory.
Check your protein shakes. Some have additives that include sugars or starches. 4 carbs tells me something is in there--I know there are some lower than that.

Finally, you are already well muscled and do not have much to lose so expect your loss to be at a snail's pace compared to people with high body fat percentages. It's just a fact that those last pounds of fat come of kicking and screaming. Maddening, but that's the way it is.

I lift three times a week and I still lose so don't worry about that, but the inches will definitely tell you more than the scale if you power lift.

Get calipers and learn how to use them (for body fat %). You can also use a tape measure. If you are into bodybuilding, and do it intensely, you'll gain muscle mass while losing body fat at an accelerated rate. I've been doing the AD for a bit over three weeks, and my weight has plateaued at 230-231 lb. But my body fat % is lower than 20% now. (A quick measurement this morning verified my suspicion.)

'Ketostix show slight color, and am not sure if this is legitimate progress or I am doing something wrong.' If you drink enough water, your urine will probably be diluted. You probably won't register that much of a color change. This is not an over-night process. It will take a couple of years to reach that dried, ripped look coveted by bodybuilders.
