| Hi Michelle! You hang in there. I was having a hard time and wanted to give up because I seemed to never get past 10 pounds....I wanted MORE off!!! I just decided to hang in there and gather up all the patience I could summon......now it is starting to pay off....finally. I am sure that some more seasoned members can look at your menus and give you some more expert advice but mine is "do not give up!!!!!" It WILL happen for you too!

| how much plain water are you drinking daily? How much with "something added", how many sodas? How many sweetners are you using a day? What is your protein/carb/fat ratio? Review My Menu - Atkins Diet - post a few days food on this thread -- you may get a very good answer as to what is going on. You have lost 4 pounds in 8 days --- I'd day that's pretty good...just remember, YOU will not loose the same as anyone else. YOUR body is completely different than anyone elses. If you are eating enough carbs, enough fat and minimum protein daily the weight will come off. This isn't a fad diet it's a lifelong way of eating - you need patience in this part of your life also.

| To answer your question, we need facts. Weight loss is dependent on many factors: Age (42), gender (female), weight (how many pounds you need to lose), if you are diabetic or have other health problems, how active you are, if you are pre-menopausal or menopausal, etc. All of that has a bearing on how much you will lose in the two weeks of induction, and still it's not hard science. Until we have more info, we can't give any credible responses. One thing for sure, worrying about it will cause stress, which will slow down any losses.

| Yes Michelle Share your menu with us. There may be something we can help tweak. But celebrate all pounds you lose. This is not a race. If it is going down it is a good thing.

| Thank y'all so much!! Here goes. No soda at all. I drink about 32 ozs. pure water, 1 Crystal Light, 1 cup coffee with heavy cream and 1 splenda, 1 cup decaf tea with heavy cream 1 splenda. Breakfast- 2 deviled eggs or 1 fried, 3 slices bacon or sausage, or SF Sheila's induction friendly pancakes. Lunch- Salad with leafy lettuce, tomatoes, some meat, olives, avocado, cheese Dinner- Chicken breast with double green beans cooked with onion and bacon or tuna salad or the like. Dessert- I have a crustless Key Lime pie(thank goodness for everyone's recipies) and canned whipped cream or cream cheese pie I have been forcing myself to eat all of my meals as I am not hungry. I have had no cravings for any sweets or chips, which is what I have been living on and I have a terrible metallic taste in my mouth. I am ready to eat for the rest of my life as I really do belive I already feel healthier than I have in years. Just wondering about the scales. Thank you all again so very much!! Michelle |

| Lets remember also, that for those 1st 8 days of induction, that her body was not in ketosis until probably day 3 or 4. So shes only really been ketogenic for about 4 days.... |

| You're in ketosis it sounds like. (the taste) That is good. Things will happen for you just hang in there. A couple of things about you menu - I would reduce the amount of sugar. You are limited to three serving of sweet stuff a day and you are exceeding that. I would certainly cut out the crystal light - I think that is aspartame. - if possible try to transition to decaf coffee - not sure that you are following the veggie rules here. Two cups from the salad list and (only) one cup from the other list. It looks to me like many of your veggies are from your other list and you may want to look at the rules carefully. (We do not follow the website here we follow the book. ) Canned whipped cream - that sounds like it has sugar or other illegal stuff in it. Remember there is a cream limit. Stick to it. I don't know what is in the crustless lime pie - but everything you have should be induction friendly. Those are just pointers. You are doing pretty well. Keep it up. And welcome to ADBB
