| Hi Nicole, do you have the book? Atkins is more than eating meat. Maybe that's what your mom was afraid you would do. You need your 3 cups of veggies and lots of water. I have no doubt you are a very determined young woman and will soon be a thin and healthy young woman. |

| Thanks for the welcome, guys! chinadoll - I do indeed have the book, and have read and explained it to her, she just panics a lot! My Dad lost a lot of weight on Atkins a few years ago, with no real exercise owing to a disability, and has kept most of it off - he was very healthy throughout, and still is, but she was concerned that at 16 [as I was then], I was "too young to diet". The whole "it's a way of life, and healthy" thing didn't work. :P But I do have my Dad's support, and my Mum is dubious but accepting it slowly as she has seen weight come off, and watch my skin improve, as well as me getting active and being a lot happier. She's getting there!

| I think that the best way to convince always is to let them see how happy, healthy, and full of energy you are. Sometimes, if you are lucky, they even convert themselves! |
