| Welcome to ADBB. Great that you are together doing this diet. That will make cooking easier for sure 5-7 lbs is great. It depends how much you have to lose. So you may have to give us a few more details. Also sharing your menu we may help you if anything need tweaking. My best advice is : follow the rules - have a perfectly clean induction Drink plenty of water Start some exercise - start small if exercise is new but start something.

| I agree that it would be helpful to post a menu. "Thinking" you are following Atkins leads many people way off base. A menu would help you to know. Hopefully Carole will be in shortly. Her post always sums it up nicely and has helpful links too. |

| Hi and welcome to ADBB. I'm Carole -- Liv, Jill and I are the Spotlight ladies...LOL. Here is the information Jill mentioned above...I hope it will help get you started. We follow the 2002 DANDR book it would be very beneficial to buy a copy so you know what you’re doing. (check www.half.com or www.amazon.com for a cheap copy - mine was under $5.00 with shipping). Even though you're already into week 3 these are the things you should be doing daily: *Before you start take your measurements and get on the scale so you have accurate numbers to start with. *Eat a variety of meats, cheeses and vegetables. Also make sure you get your fats, carbs and protein in daily. *Drink plenty of pure water (nothing added ***– see below for more info). *Take your supplements and exercise *Stay away from the shakes and bars (they aren’t legal on induction) and any processed or chemically enhanced foods – we eat whole foods. Post a few of your days full of menus so we know how you've been doing -- give us exact amounts, (ie: 3oz fried chicken, 1c mixed salad, etc) so we can help you. Check the stickies (information posts) at the top of this page – it’s a condensed version of the DANDR book. http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/ Make sure you drink a minimum of 64 ounces of water each day, including: Filtered water Mineral water Spring water Tap water *** Crystal Lite, sugar free teas, sugar free kool-aid & diet sodas do not count they are chemically enhanced and most include aspartame (also not allowed on Atkins) – PURE water is the only thing that counts toward your daily water intake. If you need a “flavor” in your water float a lemon or lime slice on top of your water The recipe sites are a helpful way to make your meals more enjoyable – just make sure you use Induction Recipes to begin with. Good luck.
