| Carbs: 36grams, nope. No good. And before everybody gets all over your case, and they will, I suggest reading the book on what food are okay on induction. Or: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...tion-faqs.html (Atkins Diet Induction FAQs) It's Gerogiana's link.

| Welcome to !Read DANDR 2002 and follow all the Rules of Induction. If something is not on the acceptable foods list (see link below), don't eat it. Drink your water (min. 64 oz daily), exercise, take a multivitamin and, before you begin, take body measurements. No chocolate, sugar free or not, in Induction. Plus it has a bunch of sugar alcohols (polyols) in it, which some of us metabolize as real sugar and should therefore be counted as net carbs. Try to use the Induction phase to kill your sweet tooth. This is the link to the acceptable foods list: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What foods can be eaten on Induction?) And these are the Rules of Induction: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What are the Rules of Induction?) Ask questions when you have them and let us know how you're both doing.

Despite all your good intentions, you're mightily tempted by a food you're not supposed to have. What to do? I'll tell you this: You'd better have a strategy ready!" | Read the stickie section and make sure if what you are thinking of eating isn't on the acceptable food list http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...induction.html (What foods can be eaten on Induction?) (What foods can be eaten on Induction?) it doesn't go in your mouth -- no exceptions. Just because something says low carb or no carb doesn't mean it can be eaten on the Atkins plan......the food on that list is what you can eat. Learn ways to cook your meals so you don't eat the same thing over and over check the recipe sites for great meal ideas. Recipe Sites http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/menus.html (Linda’s) (Never ending induction recipes)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/58513-never-ending-induction-recipes.html (Induction recipes) (Induction Recipe Basics--More recipes added)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/6807-induction-recipe-basics-more-recipes-added.html (Induction Recipe Basics) Before you start: *take your measurements and get on the scale so you have accurate numbers to start with - don't weigh again until the end of your 2 week induction. *Eat a variety of meats, cheeses and vegetables. Also make sure you get your fats, carbs and protein in daily – www.fitday.com will help you keep track of this. *Drink 64 ounces of pure water -nothing added daily (Legal water is considered Filtered water, Mineral water, Spring water and Tap water). *Take your supplements and start an exercise routine today. The Atkins shakes and bars are not legal on induction – there are non-induction ingredients in them and they are not listed on the acceptable food list. If a food isn’t listed on the acceptable food list it doesn’t belong in your mouth – no exceptions! Good luck to both of you.

| If you can do it, I suggest staying away from all sweet tasting things so you retrain your palate. The advice you have gotten above in this thread is all good sound advice so take it to heart. Welcome to ADBB. |
