Default Just starting...

Hi everyone my name is Dora and well im one of those thats has been on every diet, diet pill, you name i've done it. and well these past few years i've gained alot of weight(260) the heaviest i have ever been and now none of these diet pill dont seem to work and well i'm also getting older and i need to stop the diet pills. I recently went in for a physical in which i was dreeding to get done because i was not wanting to know my weight . I hate the way i look and feel. and its time for me to get back to the old me my goal is to get to 170 lbs .. Im really exicted about doing this diet i've been reading alot of the sucess stories and its really motivating . I will keep you posted on my progress..

Hi and welcome to ADBB Dora.

First of all - throw all the pills, potions and mixes away that you have used in the past - you don't need them - plus they aren't good for your mind or your body. Start believing in yourself that you can use food to become healthy - it will NOT be easy every step of the way but for your health, the best thing you can do is start today - read the book, ask questions, get involved, start exercising, start drinking 64oz of pure water daily and follow the plan the way it was written -- you WILL succeed!

We follow the 2002 Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) it would be a helpful for you to have a copy of the book to refer to. At the top of the induction page you’ll find a condensed version of the book - (Atkins Diet Induction FAQs)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/77558-atkins-diet-induction-faqs.html


Make a copy of this list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html and take it with you when you go to the store. If a food isn’t listed on the acceptable food list don’t eat it. Learn to read the label on all foods you buy - don’t just look at the “carb” number look at the ingredients list of everything and check the ingredients against your list. Just because it says "low carb" doesn't mean you can eat it. Also check for hidden sugars (learn the names used in place of the word “sugar”).

The recipe sites are helpful for meal planning – just make sure you use Induction Recipes to begin with.

Dora ~ Hello & Welcome To Atkins & The ADBB Forum!!!

Just like my Friend Carole has already said on "The Atkins Program" you will have NO need for the Pills, Notions, Lotions Potions, etc ~ THROW them ALL AWAY!!!

This will be your last stop on the Diet Merrie Go Round. I spent way toooo long trying everything else under the sun BUT Atkins & the only thing I had to show for it was higher Blood Pressure & Blood Sugar Levels !!!

Now after 8 months on Atkins I have lost 50 wonderful pounds to date & since Mid~May I have been able to stop taking my Blood Pressure & Type II Diabetes Meds!!!

We have have alot going on around here 24/7 it may be sharing our stories or giving & reciving information & we have a lot of fun in the process!!!

Hey Dora and welcome to the group! The first week is a bit rough, but you're going to be amazed at several things:

1. How much time you spend in the bathroom (LOL..had to toss that in)
2. How wonderful you start to feel after day 3 or so.
3. How quickly the weight falls off of you.
4. How soon people start seeing results.

This is by far the easiest plan and even if some of the recipes (million uses for pork rinds) freak you out, give them a try...some of them will come in handy when your willpower is weak.
