| If you haven't gotten a copy of DANDR 2002, get one. Read it. You don't want to make the mistake of starting Atkins only to have to restart it again. Know the plan. Know what is on the Acceptable Food List for Induction and the Rules of Induction. Induction is only 14 days. I would say most of us here would confess to being sugar and carb junkies once upon a time ... I know I would. But you just have to back away from it. It will be important to your success here.

| Welcome back - If you don't have a copy of the book you'll find a condensed version at the top of the induction page: (Atkins Diet Induction FAQs)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/77558-atkins-diet-induction-faqs.html Make a copy of this list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html and take it with you when you go to the store. If a food isn’t listed on the acceptable food list don’t eat it. Learn to read the label on all foods you buy - don’t just look at the “carb” number look at the ingredients list of everything and check the ingredients against your list. Just because it says "low carb" doesn't mean you can eat it. Also check for hidden sugars (learn the names used in place of the word “sugar”). We are pretty much all sugar junkies but have chosen to break the addiction. Induction is the time to break all food and drink addictions....once you get that under control everything else is very easy. When you think you are hungry or want sugar drink a glass of water - wait a few minutes and if you are still hungry eat some protein and fat (ie: chicken dipped in mayo). Some people say when they want something sweet they eat something sour, like a pickle or olives, and that takes care of the craving. Eat only foods on the acceptable foods list and nothing else - that will help you get off of sugars.
