Red face Getting back on the bandwagon

Hi there

I am from South Africa, and low carb/Atkins is frowned upon here so its very frustrating and lonely to live this lifestyle. I lost most of my post baby weight on Atkins, and reached my goal weight in May this year. I maintained the weight for a while, but have kinda fallen off the bandwagon a bit and picked up 5 lbs (approx). I would like to stop now, and get back into my atkins, but its difficult with almost no support here.

Hoping to keep going with support I get on this board, as well as maybe some other South African people (if there are any)

Welcome back. I also restarted this week after a 7 lb weight gain. I'm on day five of induction and I know my body likes this diet. Good luck.

Hi and welcome back –

Don’t compare what you lost or how you did “the last time” your body and lifestyle isn’t the same as last time – follow the plan the way it is written, exercise, drink plenty of pure water (64 ounces minimum daily – nothing added) and you’ll be on your way to loosing before you know it.

At the top of the induction page you’ll find a condensed version of the book - (Atkins Diet Induction FAQs)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/77558-atkins-diet-induction-faqs.html. Make a copy of this list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html and take it with you when you go to the store. If a food isn’t listed on the acceptable food list don’t eat it. Learn to read the label on all foods you buy - don’t just look at the “carb” number look at the ingredients list of everything and check the ingredients against your list. Just because it says "low carb" doesn't mean you can eat it. Also check for hidden sugars (learn the names used in place of the word “sugar”).

Hey!! Well you'll find great support on these boards.
I find people I know kinda frown upon atkins. Half of them don't know i'm on it. Like if we go out for food, I don't sit there saying I can't have that or this. I just order some meat and veg and no one really notices.
