Smile Hello everyone!

My name is krissy, im 67yrs old from the uk.
The past four yrs ive been in and out of hospital, first to have a Goiter and my thyroid taken out. Was fine until i had a fall then i had ulcer on my leg and i fell again and broke my wrist, that was in the August.Then i went right down hill after it was found my doctor had mixed my tablets up.
I was rushed into hospital and had to stay for five whole months, couldnt walk my legs gave up on me.Ive had to learn to walk again and last yr i had my one hip done.Now waiting for other one to be done.
I think you fall apart when you get to sixty ha ha.
Still im okay now , i can drive my car and i look after myself.
Ive been with a well know slimming club since jan this yr and not getting anywhere. So i thought id give Atkins a try again. have been on it six days and doing okay too, i can feel a difference already.

Hi and welcome to ADBB Krissy.

I hope you have a copy of the 2002 Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR) to refer to, it's the book we follow. Hopefully you are on the mend now and will start feeling better the longer you are on the Atkins plan. We have plenty of members from the UK so you will have lots of people to help when you need it.


At the top of the induction page you’ll find a condensed version of the book - http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/77558-Atkins-diet-induction-faqs.html. Make a copy of this list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html and take it with you when you go to the store. If a food isn’t listed on the acceptable food list don’t eat it. Learn to read the label on all foods you buy - don’t just look at the “carb” number look at the ingredients list of everything and check the ingredients against your list. Just because it says "low carb" doesn't mean you can eat it. Also check for hidden sugars (learn the names used in place of the word “sugar”).

The recipe sites are helpful for meal planning – just make sure you use Induction Recipes to begin with.
