    Default Hey all

    My name is Amaury,

I've been overweight since I can remember so I am really excited to start the Atkins Diet and be a part of this community! I am 24 and will soon be 25 in February. I would like to be at my ideal weight by this time. It will mean a lot because being overweight has being the only obstacle in life I haven't been able to overcome and crossing the threshold at a healthy weight will will be the best birthday gift I could have ever give myself. I look forward to contributing to the forum as much as I can.

Well all you can do is try your best. Sometimes weight comes off slow sometimes quick. We all have our individual paces it seems. And we just have go with that.
The best thing to do now is to follow the diet to a "T"
    Have you started?

Liv, thank you for your message! I started phase 1 yesterday and right now I am getting ready for day three. I have been following it to a T and i can't believe that I haven't felt hungry or felt the urge to eat anything at night.

Welcome to the Atkins Board Amaury.

I hope you’ve read the 2002 Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (DANDR), it’s the book we follow on this bulletin board.

Make sure you drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), exercise starting today and taking a multi-vitamin. Check all around the board for everything there is to, there is a challenge section with both exercise and non exercise challenges, Rate My Menu for help with your food, journaling – there is something for everyone

Make a copy of this list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)(What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html and take it with you when you go to the store. If a food isn’t listed on the acceptable food list don’t eat it. Learn to read the label on all foods you buy - don’t just look at the “carb” number look at the ingredients list of everything and check the ingredients against your list. Just because it says "low carb" doesn't mean you can eat it. Also check for hidden sugars (learn the names used in place of the word “sugar”).

The recipe sites are helpful for meal planning – just make sure you use Induction Recipes to begin with.

If you need anything we’re here to help you!! Good luck to you!
DON'T FORGET TO DRINK YOUR WATER TODAY
