| First of all welcome I don't know how tall you are, but you need to realise that 160 is not such an awful weight for anyone of any height (unless you're very, very, very short!) It's great that you want to take control over your life, but you must learn to love yourself too - don't think of yourself as fat or horrible, as many of us do - I'm sure many people here have GOALS of 160! That being said, Atkins is great - not only for losing or maintaining weight, but we've had many people on these boards who use Atkins as a means to eating properly again! You only have a small amount to lose, so don't expect to see weight loss as quick as some other people on the boards. As you only want to lose 40 lbs, you should be aiming for a loss of 4-6 lbs in the first 2 weeks. The people that you see on here losing 10 lbs + in the first two weeks have a lot more weight to lose in the first place Good luck on your journey, and I look forward to following your progress. I wish you every bit of luck, and hope that Atkins can not only help you to lose the weight you want, but can also help regulate your eating and bring you healthier eating habits!

| Hi beth, One of the hardest things for me to do is find a substitute for food when I need nurturing or a reward. I am still a work in progress in this respect but it sounds like you have some similar tendencies. |
