Talking Re-introduction

Hey all, I'm back.

Not that I really know anyone here, but what the heck huh?

Long story made painfully short, I started with atkins in Aug. of '08 and had lost 65lbs. by Jan. of this year (YAY! me)

In Feb. of this year my wife of 9 yrs. and split up and my whole world crashed. Needless to say, I wandered off the the path for a bit but now I am back with a vengence.

Good news is that I didnt gain a single lb. back during that time, and I still have only 40lbs. till my goal.

So anyway, HOWDY

Steve

You are so lucky you didn't gain any back during all of that. Great idea to join and get right back into it all. Your extra 40 will be gone in no time. good luck.

Welcome back --

Glad you are back and ready to start over. In case you lost your information from before (and don't have the 2002 DANDR book yet) here is a helpful start:

At the top of the induction page you’ll find a condensed version of the book - (Atkins Diet Induction FAQs)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/77558-atkins-diet-induction-faqs.html. Make a copy of this list (What foods can be eaten on Induction?)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-low-carb-dieting-faqs/6781-what-foods-can-eaten-induction.html - take it with you when you go to the store. If a food isn’t listed on the acceptable food list don’t eat it. Learn to read the label on all foods you buy - don’t just look at the “carb” number look at the ingredients list of everything and check the ingredients against your list. Just because it says "low carb" doesn't mean you can eat it. Also check for hidden sugars (learn the names used in place of the word “sugar”).

Check the STAC Second Time Around Club - Atkins Diet for additional support. Check the stickies at the top of the induction forum to refresh your memory on the plan. (BEFORE you begin the Atkins Nutritional Approach...)http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.com/forums/atkins-diet-14-day-induction/5781-before-you-begin-atkins-nutritional-approach.html. Also look at the challenge section to see if there is anything you might be interested in.

The recipe sites are a helpful meal planning tool – just make sure you use Induction Recipes to begin with.
