Default Dedicated Low Carber

Hi

I'm a 'second-time-around' Low Carber and get so much support on Jimmy Moore's Forum. I've gotten those first ugly 50 lbs off in the first year and am now concentrating on those last 20 to get back to where I was in college. I need the support of the LC community and it looks like this is a good one to add. It bears the name of the man who is synonymous with the Low Carb Lifestyle. Everybody knows what you're doing when you say "Atkins".

I've been recently reading in the popular magazines how "they", instead of making Low Carb out to be deadly, as they did for so long, now admit that it works faster, but does not have the staying power of the (healthier?) low calorie diets. And fat continues to be the enemy. Well, most fats, they say. (They now admit that there is a need for a little bit of fat.)

We Low Carbers (or those of us who are "Doing Atkins") need to continue to demonstrate that this is not deadly or a short-term thing, but that it is a valid way to improve health for life.

Hi! Welcome aboard! Congratulations on your 50 pounds - that's brilliant and you should be really proud That last 20lbs may be slow to drop but I'm sure that if you can eat on plan, you'll shift them.

We follow the 2002 edition of New Diet Revolution - do you have a copy? It's different in some critical aspects to later versions.

I have the DANDR which says "Completely updated! The Must-Have NEW edition", although the inside has no date later than 2002. How do I know I have the right edition?

Does your copy have a red cover or a white cover? Mine is red and says the same thing you typed above.

Make sure you are eating foods on the acceptable food list, drinking a minimum 64 ounces of water daily (nothing added), exercise is mandatory and a multivitamin with no iron is also recommended.

Good luck getting the last of your weight off. Check the recipe sites for delicious meal ideas.
