Default New to this board, experienced low carber

Hi all

I'm looking for a new place to hang out as ediets isn't any fun for low carbers any more.
I've been on vacation for a couple of weeks and am restarting induction October 1.
Hopefully I'll find someone to join me. I'm type 2 diabetic, and try to low carb as I feel better and am healthier when I do, but sometimes I fall down. I need to recommit - one day at a time.

cheers!!
RJ

Welcome --
Have you followed Atkins before or just eaten "low carb"? Either way I hope you have read the 2002 DANDR - if not you should get a copy so you know what Atkins is all about and what this site is all about.

I'm Type 2 also - going to my endocrinologist in 2 days to see how things are going now. Good luck to you. Check around the site for all the different things there is to do - many of the challenges are starting on the 1st so you are joining at a great time!

Make sure you drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure water (nothing added), exercise starting today and take a multi-vitamin. You'll find wonderful recipes here: just make sure you use Induction Recipes to begin with. Vary your meals so you don't get tired of eating the same thing over and over -- we have too many choices for that to happen.

thanks for the welcomes. I'm an Atkins fan, but have struggled with OWL. I do tend to eat the same things too.
There are certainly lots of great recipes here though!

cheers all

Hi Rachel and welcome. You will find that this site sticks to the 2002 DABDR when giving out advice although board members tend to range from serious Atkineers to low carb lifestylers. Just bear in mind of you do give out advice to keep in mind the site is Atkins. ALso, check out the exercise challenges and journal forums too. I really enjoy both of those areas. Glad you found us.
