Talking Induction progress - Day 14

Well thank God I got to the end of the initial 2 wk induction yesterday and lost 14 lbs total. I have to admit that last night I almost gave in to some Reese buttercups. My daughter has a big bag full of Halloween candy that I have to look at for several months. My goal for now is to stay on induction for as long as possible and keep doing Taebo 3 days a week to keep the weight coming off.

Atkins is about more than induction -- OWL will help you learn to add foods back into your daily meals and should be done slowly so you find the foods you have problems with and those you can eat without incident.

Have you started a journal? It's a great place to get your thoughts and feelings out and a great place for others to help you.

Congrats on making through induction. This is my third time around and I believe this forum will make the difference this time. What a great resource for information and motivation.

I too have cravings for Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. Have you tried the Atkins variety? They are pretty good, especially if you freeze them first.

What exactly are these?

Substituting sugary junk food with low carb junk food won't change your eating habits.

Atkins Peanut Butter Cups are these:
Atkins Endulge Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups

I agree that you can't have a steady diet of these or other low carb junk food alternatives but they are what enables me to get through some serious craving issues and allow me to stay on the Atkins plan long term.

Those are not allowed on Induction.

Did you try snacks that combine fat, protein and some of your veggie carbs? Or simply drinking a glass of water?

I have tried that. Unfortunately, none of those things tastes like chocolate.

I've figured that out.

You obviously have a chocolate addiction. Induction is meant to break such addictions. Yet, it's not magic. Unless you choose to change your eating habits, it's not going to happen.

Good luck!
