| Welcome! Sounds like it could be the Atkins flu ... or you could truly be sick. My advice would be to ditch the pork rinds in favor of real food ... snacking on vegetables would be better for you. American cheese ... is that the kind that comes in its own wrapper? If so, it's not a good cheese on Atkins ... as it's very processed. You need more vegetables than what you're getting. One of the ways to help getting over this feeling you're having is to have more vegetables ... and to make sure you're drinking all your water (a minimum of 64 ounces). Are you planning on quitting smoking at some point?

| I think it is most likely the eggs here. While its not me saying you can't eat eggs, but when you eat eggs alone, it tends to upset your stomach and the sort, as it does for me. Of course everyone is different. atkinsgal08 really nailed it, try avoid processed food in favor of more wholesome foods. Chedder Cheese is a fairly good replacement for American. String Cheese works well for snacks. Just make sure you get that variety of food, else the diet becomes harder to stay on. |

| I am definately going to eat more veggies tomorrow. But can I keep the pork rinds for a snack. Thanks for the advice on the cheese. I do plan to quit smoking, my husband quit six months ago with patch. He has alot more willpower than me. Thats why no other diets have worked. Thanks again for the advice. I have been reading this forum all night and feel like i've have learned alot. |

| Also I find if I take my vitamins early in the morning they make me so queasy that I have tossed them on more than one occasion. I shopped around different brands to find what works for me, but I still can't take them first thing. Have to wait til late morning or lunch once my stomach has got some food in it. |

| I think maybe you should cut back on the pork rinds just a wee bit, as they have a lot of sodium. Try the cheese snacks that others have suggested. If you're feeling better and preferably after the induction period, then gradually add some pork rinds again. I usually feel tired and weak after a sodium spike, such as corned beef (canned), sometimes even dizzy but usually just weak. I don't think too much salt is good for you esp if your body is just getting used to the induction phase. |

| Hi and welcome -- I agree what you seem to be going through is what we call Atkins Flu -- it will pass in a couple days (if not already) and you'll start feeling much better soon! You can eat pork rinds but keep them at a minimum.....find something else you can eat that is crunchy in place of the rinds -- celery s something that helps me when I want something crunchy. Buy brick cheese and grate it yourself -- if you want cheese slices buy Deli Deluxe Cheese Slices -- they make great cheese sticks or cheese crackers if you cut them and microwave them for 1 minute...think of those in place of the rinds once in awhile. Make sure you are drinking a minimum 64 ounces of pure water -- that wil help you get through the "flu" and also is mandatory, along with a vitamin and exercise while on Atkins. I stopped smoking 3 years ago on July 4th -- I didn't think I had any willpower but I made it (cold turkey) -- I'd tried before with the patch and losenges but they were just crutches that I found I didn't need. Good luck to you.
